In this KING SIZED 25TH EPISODE of Graphic Content, Jim and Adam break down all the news from DC, Marvel, and the Indie Press companies nipping at their heels. Today on the show, Adam is back to join Jim in talking about the highs and lows of DC Comics' recently-completed crossover specials with the Looney Toons characters. The highs were most-definitely Eisner Award-worth, and the lows... well, let's just say it's Adam's turn to blow a gasket on this episode. We hope you like it.

Graphic Content Podcast 23 | Spider-Man Homecoming Review!
Tuesday Jul 11, 2017
Tuesday Jul 11, 2017
Jim is joined by special guest reviewer Chris Wiler in reviewing the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Spider-Man Homecoming! Listen to the guys unpack this co-produced feature between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, and if they thought they did ol' Web-Head any justice. Plus, just like if Adam was on this episode, they go off on plenty of tangents in their conversation we hope you find entertaining...
(One thing Jim wanted to mention -- he doesn't think that Wonder Woman was the best superhero movie of the year, that was a slip of the tongue. Here's his official list for the record: Logan, Wonder Woman... and you can listen to the rest of the podcast to see if he liked Spider-Man Homecoming more or less than Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 :-)

Graphic Content Podcast 22 | Marvel Legacy... seriously?
Thursday Jul 06, 2017
Thursday Jul 06, 2017
In Episode 22 of the Graphic Content Podcast, Jim and Adam give their opinions on what admittedly little is known about the new "Legacy" event from Marvel coming this fall. Okay, it's actually rampant speculation -- but at least we're following the trail of breadcrumbs the House of the Mouse has given us so far and compared it to what their editorial slant has looked like up until now. Here's a hint: we think Marvel has actually found their way into chasing DC for a change. Listen to the show to discover what has led us to these opinions, as well as us actually stating how wrong we hope we are...
...we also want to know what you want to think! Hit us up on email by addressing your question or comment to thereal.graphiccontent@gmail.com. And we're on all of the socials as well: Twitter @graphicpodcast, on Instagram @graphiccontent.podcast, and our official FB page found on at http://facebook.com/graphicpodcast
Now go read a comic! And when you're done with that, we hope you listen to Graphic Content.

Graphic Content Podcast 21 | ID10T Fest!
Thursday Jun 29, 2017
Thursday Jun 29, 2017
In this episode of the Graphic Content Podcast, Jim talks to Adam about the weekend he spent at the inaugural ID10T Festival presented by Nerdist's Chris Hardwick, A12 Productions, and Live Nation! We try to figure out if it's supposed to be called "Eye-Dee-Ten-Tee Fest" or "Idiot Fest". (Honestly, I'm sure either one works just fine). We talk about what the experience was like at a "transmedia event" like this that featured some of the best in comics, comedy, and music. Seriously-amazing talent from all three sectors were featured that weekend too numerous to count, but you can check out the festival's website out at id10tfest.com for the roll call of all the artists featured there!
So, after Adam and Jim blather on about the festival in general, the really good stuff starts: and that's the interviews Adam had with a variety of comic industry talent! First off is an interview with Mike Marts from Aftershock Comics, whom some long-time comics readers might know as a 20-year veteran of the "Big Two" comics publishers editing the Batman titles at DC before moving down the street to Marvel to take over the editorial reigns of the X-Men titles during the time Ed Brubaker was writing those books. Adam also talks with Matt Wilson (colorist on The Wicked + The Divine amongst a long list of other titles), Chris Burnham (an amazing penciller who's drawn mainstream comics like many Batman titles for DC & X-Men: Manifest Destiny for Marvel; to small press/creator-owned work like Nixon's Pals and Officer Downe). On Day 2 Adam spoke with Matt Horak (artist on Marvel's Punisher with Becky Cloonan), and wraps-up his ID10T coverage with a long-ish interview with one of my favorite creators in the comics business, the one and only Phil Hester!
We hope you enjoy the show, and would welcome your feedback. You can send emails to thereal.graphiccontent@gmail.com, and we're all over social media. You can find us on Twitter @graphicpodcast, on Instagram @graphiccontent.podcast, and our official Facebook page found at http://facebook.com/graphicpodcast! Holonet HQ | Talkin' about Lord and Miller
Wednesday Jun 28, 2017
Wednesday Jun 28, 2017
Jim is flying Solo (get it, "Solo"... heh heh... heh) this week in a chat about the goings-on the Holonet HQ Facebook Group, as well as the little kerfuffle you might've heard about going-down at Pinewood Studios last week. You know, the one where Christopher Miller and Phil Lord were fired by the Powers That Be at Lucasfilm with only 3 weeks of principal photography left to shoot for the "Untitled Han Solo Spinoff Movie"? I try not to ramble too, too much about it, but there is a certain stream-of-consciousness to the podcast that I'm curious if you like or not.
"Holonet HQ" is the official podcast of the Facebook group of Star Wars fans of the same name. The group is now live on Facebook, and we'd love for you to join us! (We do ask that you request to join the group so our Jedi Moderators can be assured you're not a Sith Lord in disguise or anything) If you're not on Facebook but would like to contact us about the content of this, or our previous episode, we'd still love to hear from you! We're part of the Graphic Contect Podcast Feed so we're on Twitter @graphicpodcast, or you can send us a long-form email to thereal.graphiccontent@gmail.com.
So until next time, May the Force be With You... Always.

Graphic Content Podcast 20 | Father's Day
Thursday Jun 22, 2017
Thursday Jun 22, 2017
Join Jim, Adam, and new occupier of the guest seat Chris as the trio discuss the best, and absolute worst dads in comics. Recorded on Father's Day 2017 no less! I have to say that, and maybe I'm biased, but that this show really has one of the widest ranges of characters we've discussed since the beginning of the show, so we hope you like it.
And if you did, or even if you didn't, we'd love to hear your thoughts about it. You can contact us via email: thereal.graphiccontent@gmail.com, or on Twitter where you can find us @graphicpodcast. We also share all kinds of art and other kinds of fun stuff on Instagram where you can find us @graphiccontent.podcast. And finally, you can see all kinds of news and teases for upcoming episodes (including our new show about all things Star Wars called "Holonet HQ") on our official FB page which can be found at facebook.com/graphicpodcast.
So like we say at the end of each episode: go read a comic! And after you're done, listen to Graphic Content...

Holonet HQ | Episode I -- Past & Present
Tuesday Jun 20, 2017
Tuesday Jun 20, 2017
It's with great pleasure that I announce the latest edition to the Graphic Content Podcast Feed, HOLONET HQ! On this show, Jim is joined by a group of friends to talk about (which you might have guessed from the name of the show) STAR WARS! In this episode, Jim and his friends Rachael, Johnathan, and Chris talk about how they discovered the stories from a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, and all the way through to their impressions of the trailer for Episode VIII: The Last Jedi! Oh, Jim brings in a special guest from the SW Universe to help him keep this a PG-13 rated podcast.
If you'd like to get in touch with us, we'd love to hear from you! You write us an email to our addy thereal.graphiccontent@gmail.com. Or if you'd like to keep it short and sweet, you can hit us up on Twitter @graphicpodcast. On the next episode, we will post our first actual play session of our campaign "Legacy of the Jedi" using the Fantasy Flight Games "Force and Destiny" RPG. So until next time, May the Force be With You... Always.

Graphic Content | Actually Playing -- Fate Accelerated Session 0
Monday Jun 19, 2017
Monday Jun 19, 2017
There's a lot of geeky things that Jim enjoys, and if you've ilstened to any of our feed's previous shows you know that he's a HUGE comic book geek. Seriously, he's huge -- like 6'7", big dude. Anyhoo, one of the other fun (& definitely geeky) hobbies he enjoys is sitting down for a good old fashioned role playing game, a.k.a. RPG. If you're unfamiliar of the term, perhaps you're more familiar with the granddaddy of all RPGa: Dungeons and Dragons! Essentially it's a game of "make believe" we played with kids with a set of rules facilitated by funny-looking dice that can range from very rules-light, to extremely rules-heavy which RPG-enthusiasts call "Crunch".
Fate Accelerated is not one of those crunchy games.
It's a system that provides a loose structure for the GM (Game Master, or as a sportsball enthusiast would call, "a referee") to pretty-much create a world based on the shared imagination of the GM & his players. In this inaugural episode of Actually Playing, Graphic Content's Jim Mason is joined by his friends Brian, Carter, Mike, and Isaac (the GM) as they're introduced to a world not much unlike their own. Except perhaps for the presence of the likes of hedge wizards, werewolves, and the undead in a game Isaac best-describes as "Horror Noir" roleplaying.
We hope you like the show. Let us know what you think via email to our addy thereal.graphiccontent@gmail.com. We're also on many of the socials like on Twitter @graphicpodcast, Instagram @graphiccontent.podcast, or on our office FB page found at http://facebook.com/graphicpodcast . We look forward to the feedback!
And now, on with the show...

Graphic Content Flashback Special! | Mission Command Episode 1
Thursday Jun 15, 2017
Thursday Jun 15, 2017
While we wait for our scientists in the GCP Laboratory to finish tweaking the "Top Secret Project", we thought you might be interested in the podcast that started it all. No, not v1.0 of Graphic Content, I'm talking about the podcast that spawned that show. Of course I'm talking about the famous MISSION COMMAND PODCAST! Wait... you never heard of it? Well that can't be true, I know at least 20 people who heard it. Really!
Seriously, this was my very first foray into podcasting, and I had a blast doing it while we did with my friends Cody, Damon, and Mike. Like I said in the intro, for some insane reason we all thought that it'd be a great idea to get up super-early on Sunday mornings to reccord our thoughts on all things nerdy and awesome! In this episode, besides learning how to record people talking for listening on the internet, we discuss movie and TV casting, the comics we were reading, and Mike debuts a little diddy from Wizards of the Coast called the 5th edition D&D Starter Set that just came out (I wonder how that game is doing now, hmmm...)
Anyhoo, we hope you enjoy the episode. If you would like to hear more from the Mission Command Archives, let us know via the contacts below. So until next time, go read some comics! And after you're done with those, listen to Graphic Content!
