Graphic Content Flashback Episode 3!
Thursday Jun 08, 2017
Thursday Jun 08, 2017
In this episode of our look back to the original version of the show we listen back to when Dave, Isaac, and Mike talked about the titles they read in August of 2014. Some of them were awesome (The Fade Out by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips, as well as the Wicked + The Divine by Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie), some made them scratch their heads (Multiversity #1 by Grant Morrison and Ivan Reis), and another seemed like it made them wish for their time back (Joshua Williamson's "The Devillers"). They also continue their "Comic Book Club" series with a look at the collection of Jeff Lemire's classic, "Essex County."
While we love to look back at the original show, we also want to look forward. Have a request for a book or webcomic in need of a review? Or are you a creator interested in talking to us on the show about your work? We'd love to hear from you. You can drop us a line at thereal.graphiccontent@gmail.com! We're also on pretty much all of the social media platforms out there: Twitter @graphicpodcast, Instagram @graphiccontent.podcast, and our official FB Page under "Graphic Content Podcast". So with all that out of the way might I suggest to go read a comic? And after that, listen to Graphic Content :-)

Could it possibly live up to the what is arguably one of the greatest comic book storylines of all time? Well, just sit back, relax, and let these three friends hash it out then rate it on a 1-5 scale, this time of Terra's floating rocks... :-)

Graphic Content Flashback Episode 2!
Tuesday May 30, 2017
Tuesday May 30, 2017
Come back in time with us to the summer of 2014 when v1.0 of the show starring Cody, Dave, Isaac, and Mike as they talked about the comics they were reading back then. Titles like Marvel's "Elektra" #1 by Haden Blackman and Michael del Mundo, DC/Vertigo's "Bodies" (#1 of 8) by various writer/artist teams, Rick Remender's and Greg Tocchini's "Low" #1 from Image, and "Outcast" #1 by Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta also from Image. Plus in the issue, Jim finally gets the chance to respond to the allegations that he actually paid good money to see the Jennifer Garner "Elektra" film in the theatre...
...okay, he did. But he says why he did that. And actually it makes it kinda worse. Nice work genius.
Anyhoo, we hope you like this episode of Graphic Content Flashback, our new series where we look back on the original incarnation of the show from 2014, to see how the industry is still in many ways the same, and how it's completely different in some others. Graphic Content Podcast 17 | The Hannibal Tabu Interview
Thursday May 25, 2017
Thursday May 25, 2017
This week on Graphic Content, Adam flies solo in the studio again this time interviewing Hannibal Tabu. If the name sounds familiar, then you've probably read his column "The Buy Pile" on CBR.com which has been published there since, oh, 2006. He's also a family man, graphic designer, journalist, poet just to quickly run-down his background for the uninitiated. And yet still finds the time to add comics creator to his resume with his work as a founding member of "The Operative Network" webcomics studio, or the upcoming "Irrational Numbers" coming soon from Wunderman Comics! We hope you enjoy Adam's interview as much as I did listening to it!
As always, you can hit us up on all the socials: the show has an Official Facebook Page & we're on Twitter @graphicpodcast. We're also active on Instagram where you can find us @graphiccontent.podcast. As for me, you can find me on Facebook at Jim Mason, Twitter @jimmmers, and on Instagram @jimmmmmers. Adam is much smarter with his social media strategy than I am, where you can find him on just about any platform @AdamSMessinger. Also, if you'd like to drop us a longer-form question or comment about the show, or are a creator looking to get the word out about your project, please drop us an email at thereal.graphiccontent@gmail.com, we'd love to hear from you!

Graphic Content Podcast Episode 16 Pt.2 | More of Our Favorite Collections
Thursday May 18, 2017
Thursday May 18, 2017
Join Jim and Adam for the second half of their conversation about their favorite collected editions of comics. How can they possibly follow-up their picks from Part One? I mean, Jim choosing Darwyn Cooke's "DC: The New Frontier" Deluxe Edition, and Adam with Will Eisner's "A Contract With God"? Good thing this really isn't a competion, because it'd be a mess to judge.
(And as David Letterman used to say, "remember kids, please, PLEASE, no wagering")
Let us know what you think of the 2-part formatting of the show. Do you like your podcasts shorter? Or would you prefer the longer, uninterrupted version? We want to know!

Graphic Content Podcast Episode 15 | Version 1.0 Flashback!
Wednesday May 17, 2017
Wednesday May 17, 2017
Episode 15 tells the "Secret Origin" of GCP! It's set in the year 2014 as the co-owners of the Launchpad Comics and Games (Mike, Cody, & Dave) with friend-of-the-store Isaac review the latest to come-out at the time. Books that are still critical successes like Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie's "The Wicked + The Divine", and Joshua Williamson & Mike Henderson's "Nailbiter"; to new books from the "Big Two" (DC & Marvel to comics-newcomers) like "Grayson" and "Storm". This episode is a great window into the past to see how the show got it's start and, for those who knew him, to hear Dave's voice again.
So after a little self-indulgence of me reminiscing about my late friend, sit back and let the internet send you back three years into the past to hear about what 4 friends gathered on a Tuesday night had to say about comics at the time...

Tuesday May 09, 2017
Jim and Adam are joined this week by returning guest Johnathan Wright (author of the Mecha vs. Kaiju Role Playing Game) and Lodi, CA-area artist Manny Gomez as they breakdown how they liked Marvel Studio's latest blockbuster, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2! The movie was definitely entertaining, but did that starship's engine fire on all cylinders? Listen to what the guys say to find out!
You can always find GRAPHIC CONTENT on social media:the Facebook page, Twitter @graphicpodcast, or on Instagram @graphiccontent.podcast. You can also send us an old-fashioned 20th century style-email to thereal.graphiccontent@gmail.com. Jim is on the socials too: Facebook under Jim Mason, Twitter @jimmmers, and Instagram @jimmmmmers. Adam's made it much easier to find him as he's pretty-much on all of the social media platforms @AdamSMessinger. So until next time, as Stan "The Man" Lee would say...
EXCELSIOR!
